Robert W. Warosh, 90, Wausau, died Wednesday October 23, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born October 24, 1922, in Edgar, son of the late Alois and Mabel (Bier) Warosh. On June 19, 1954, he married Carol Pepke at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Prior to his retirement in 1989, Bob had been employed as the Executive Secretary of the Midwest Millmans Industrial Council of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Military Police in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau and was proud to have accompanied his comrades to Washington DC through the Honor Flight Program. Through the years he enjoyed many pastimes including, hunting, fishing and playing solitaire on his I-pad. He was an avid snowmobiler, was a member of the Rib Mountain Bowmen and the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association. Spending time at the cottage near Eagle River with family was very important to him. Bob was a founding member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, served as one of the first presidents of the Home School Association, was an active member of the Men's Club and was a leader in the Boy Scouts Troop 430. Bob also took an active role in the Knights of Columbus as member of the Third Degree George Schreier Council No. 1069 and the Fourth Degree Pere Rene Menard General Assembly. Survivors include his wife, Carol Warosh, Wausau, two sons, Thomas (Deborah) Warosh, Sheboygan, Richard Warosh, Wausau, two grandchildren, Megan Warosh and her son, Zeke; Matthew Warosh and a step-granddaughter, Danielle Ragsdale and her son, Yonnie; two sisters, Mary Hanke, Naperville, Illinois and Carol (Jerry) Feldbruegge, Wausau; a brother-in-law, Jack Zimmerer, Tuscon, Ariz., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Burkhart and Katie Detert; and one sister-in-law, Beverly Zimmerer. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday October 28, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service to conclude the visitation Sunday at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
