Riley R. Weinkauf, 28, Wausau, died Friday, October 27, 2017, unexpectedly in his sleep at Hazelden (Betty Ford) Rehab Center, Minnesota, while receiving treatment for his addiction.
He was born July 18, 1989 in Wausau, son of Randy and Peggy (Knoblock) Weinkauf.
Riley worked as a truck driver for RiverView Construction and was a member of the Teamsters Local #662. He enjoyed boating, fishing, BMX and motocross. One of his favorite hobbies was driving around town in his BMW convertible or going out to eat at a local restaurant enjoying a kiddie cocktail with olives. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially goofing around with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his parents, Randy and Peggy Weinkauf, Wausau; siblings, Jesse (Marlo) Turner, Wausau, Wesley (Britney) Weinkauf, Kronenwetter, Heidi (Jeremiah) Dehnel, Wausau, Angel (Robert) Mistlebauer, Madison and Dakota Heath, Wausau; nieces and nephews, Stella Turner, Autumn Weinkauf, Brett and Deacon Dehnel, Charles and Vivienne Mistlebauer; maternal grandma, Doris (Vern Hinz) Springer, Wausau, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Dan Knoblock Sr., paternal grandparents, Ewald and Margaret Weinkauf, cousin, Cameron Springer and best friend, Ryan McClinton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Highland Community Church Weston Campus, 6615 County Road J, Schofield. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at Highland Community Church.
