Regina D. Babl, 95, our beloved mother, entered into Eternal Life on Wednesday February 4, 2015.
She was born July 17, 1919 in Bevent, daughter of the late William and Johanna (Lewandowski) Dallman. She was so proud of her heritage, the hard work of farming, and beauty of God's soil - this is where her love of the land began. On October 19, 1940, she married the love of her life, Lawrence "Mike" Babl at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent with a three day celebration which followed at the Dallman Family Farm in the town of Reid. He preceded her in death December 4, 2010.
They built their home in Schofield, their lifelong residence, and enjoyed years berry-picking, square-dancing, bowling, playing cards, picnics and Family. Regina was a homemaker and her life was dedicated to making her house a "home" in which to raise her family and instill the values she held so dear; love of God and family, and the rewards of hard work. She never wanted anything more than what she had, she was completely content being wife and mother - it was in 'that spirit' that she created a home that was the heartbeat of our family.
Among her favorite things to do were: flower gardening, raking, tending to her yard, baking and canning, making wine, sewing and knitting, researching family genealogy, playing games with children/grandchildren, and attending all of their events. Aside from these were two other treasures; her trademark of hundreds and hundreds of beautifully handmade knit dishcloths given to every family member yearly and the treasured keepsake of handmade quilts that mom made with Jessie for each and every grandchild. Everyone was always welcome at her table. She will always be remembered for her beautiful baby blue eyes, smiles and laughter, quick wit, "a song & a jig", and for opening her home, heart and cookie jar to everyone!
Regina was a lifelong member of St.Therese Catholic Church with extreme faith in God and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She enjoyed donating baked goods, crafts, giving time to church and benefits, and being one of the leaders for praying the rosary at daily masses. Regina was a dedicated member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rose No. 1062 throughout her life; as well, she was their CDA Sunshine -Spiritual Correspondent for 50 years. Also, a member of the St.Therese Ladies Little Flower Circle. She loved all the ladies and working with them.
