Pauline A. Holup, 90, Wausau, died peacefully at home Thursday, June 1, 2017.
She was born May 18, 1927 in Wausau to the late Herman and Anna (Fackler) Brose. On August 14, 1947 Pauline married Robert M. Holup at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1995. Besides her parents and husband, Pauline was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Fuenger and Donna Hettinga.
Pauline was a graduate of Wausau High School. During World War II, she worked at Marathon Battery and at the Grand Theater. Pauline and Robert were founding members of Holy Name Catholic Church and she also served on the St. Catherine Council. In addition, she operated an engraving business with her husband for more than 30 years engraving name badges and making square dance ties. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed traveling the world, square dancing, and spending the summer months tirelessly tending her beautiful flower gardens.
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta (Dennis) Schmidt, Carol (Jeff) Buchholz, and Annette Crass; four grandchildren, Wendy (Tom) Larson, Craig (Chris) Schmidt, April (Jonathan) Halpern and August (Megan) Crass; 8 great-grandchildren, Jake, Ben and Sam Schmidt, Michael and Naomi Halpern, Madelyn, Lydia and Miles Crass; and three sisters, Mary Brose, Ramona Neuman, Phyllis (Harley) Schmieden; and brother-in-law Raymond Hettinga.
