Mitchell "Mitch" C. Heinzen
44, Wausau, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1966 in Wausau, son of James G. Heinzen of Kronenwetter and the late Margaret L. Ruff. On January 30, 2004, he married Debra Hurley in Wausau. She survives.
Mitch was currently employed at Wausau Tile and manager at the Brickyard Saloon in Ringle. He was a 1984 graduate of Wausau East High School where he was an avid hockey player. He continued playing hockey as a goalie for the Wausau Cyclones for many years. Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horseshoes, Nascar and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Wisconsin Badgers fan. Recently, he enjoyed singing with the Benaszeski 's Polka Band.
Survivors include, his wife, Debra Heinzen, Rib Mountain; his father, James G. (Rachel) Heinzen, Kronenwetter; three step-children, Casey, Kyle and Kali Krahn, all of Wausau; two brothers, Michael (Trish) Heinzen, Milwaukee and Matt (Ann) Heinzen, Wausau; his step-father, Ed (Judi Anderson) Froeba, Wausau; one nephew, Andrew Heinzen; two nieces, Kahla and Tiffany Heinzen; his mother-in-law, Mary (Ed) Smith, Wausau; his father-in-law, Ralph Hurley, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Tim (Brenda) Hurley, Wausau and their children, Brandon and Justin; one sister-in-law, Sandy (Dave) Jagler, Marathon and their children, Jennifer and Tyler; and many friends.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Gregory A. Michaud will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church.
