Marcel R. Carr, 82, died Saturday, August 28, 2010
Marcel was born May 18, 1928 in Marathon, son of the late Henry and Helen (Ruplinger Schuster) Carr. He attended Marathon schools. He married Leona Zawislan May 26, 1948 and together they had nine children. Marcel took over the family farm and started a trucking business delivering milk to local cheese factories. He was elected Town Clerk and served on the town board until he moved to the Town of Stettin where he operated a tavern and was a heavy equipment operator of bulldozers, end loaders and backhoes for Knauf Trucking and Excavating and River View Construction. In later years he became a shoe repairman in Wausau until his retirement.
On October 23, 1987 he married Florence (Stencil) Myszka in Wausau. Marc and Florence enjoyed their retirement years traveling the United States and Mexico, hunting and trout fishing in northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, feeding the birds and deer and hosting family gatherings at the summer home near Tomahawk. She passed away July 4, 2008.
Survivors include his children, Wayne (Char) Carr, Dale (Doreen) Carr, Diane (Robert Sekorski) Carr, all of Wausau, Carol (Len) Urban, Gary (Renee) Carr, Randal (Cheri) Carr, Brian (Judy) Carr, all of Marathon and Lynn (Lynn Berry) Carr-Berry, Cottage Grove, MN.
He is further survived by his grandchildren, Kimberle (Jeremy) Dennee, Kristopher (Michelle) Carr, Brian Pickard, Michael Pickard, Amy (Jesse) Graveen, , Carrie (Rick) Uhlig, Christy Gresens, Casey (fiancAC. Laura Belair) Burkett, Alicia (Kraig) Underwood, , Dana (Aaron) Busse, Gina Carr, Kevin (Tina) Carr, Kelly (Nathan) Weller, Kory Carr, Kyle Carr, Kody Carr, Garrett Carr, Allison Berry, Lucas Berry, Samantha Berry, and 23 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by one sister, Catherine Lepak, West Bend, and brothers in law and sisters in law, Irene Schuster, Wausau, George and Ann Stencil, Wallace and Arlene Stencil both of Edgar, Duane and Betty Stencil, New Lisbon, WI, Adeline Boser, Piggott, Arkansas, Esther (Clifford) Kolpack, Wausau, Regina Stencil, Edgar, Susanne (John) Burish, Marathon and Daniel Lepak, Rib Mountain.
Besides his wife Florence and his parents, one son, Patrick, one sister Marie Lepak, four brothers, Nick Schuster, Victor Schuster, Alois Schuster and Alphonse Schuster. Six brothers in law, Lawrence Stencil, Ervin Stencil, John Stencil Joseph Stencil, Omer Boser, Norbert Lepak and one sister in law, Emily Stencil, preceded him in death.

The funeral mass will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 229 S 28th Ave. Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be at St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Marathon.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave. Wausau. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
