Lorraine C. Nowak 84, formerly of 1724 W. Porter St., Wausau, died Saturday, December 6, 2003, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Lorraine was born April 13, 1919, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Gorell) Goulet. On November 9, 1940, she married John Nowak at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1993. Lorraine was a homemaker all of her life and was especially known for her outstanding cooking and baking skills. Among her favorite things to do were crafts, reading, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her children, Michael (Marlene) Nowak, Benzonia, Mich, Susan (Terry) Bohm, Wausau, Laurie (Dave) Nieuwenhuis, Wausau, five grandchildren, Mark Nowak, Michelle (Clement) Thompson, Heath (Jennifer) Nowak, D.J. and Jason Nieuwenhuis and two great grandchildren, Whitney and Carson Nowak. The funeral mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
