Lisa Ozolins
86, Wausau, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born in Eningen u/Achalm, Germany on February 6, 1924 to the late Gustav and Hedwig "Oma" (Maule) Neutz. After WWII, she met Edmunds Ozolins from Latvia and married him in July of 1949. In 1951, they immigrated to the USA as refugees and lived in Nevada and Ames, Iowa. In 1955, they moved to Eau Claire until 2009 when they moved to Wausau into an assisted living retirement community. In 1998, Lisa was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Lisa raised three children on beautiful Altoona Lake on North Shore Drive.
Survivors include, her husband, Edmunds Ozolins, Wausau; one daughter, Ilona (Jeff) Gibson, Eau Claire; two sons, Craig (Barney Rooker-Ozolins) Ozolins, Coon Rapids, Minn. And Kent (Tina) Ozolins, Wausau; four grandchildren, Jeremy and Carmen Moen, and Brittney and Amber Ozolins; and two great grandsons Brandon and Caleb Moen
Preceding Lisa in death were her parents, Gustav and Hedwig "Oma" Neutz. Oma lived with her in the United States for many years and helped raise her children.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Eau Claire, with a private burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
