LeRoy A. Heil
81, Marathon, died Wednesday March 7, 2007 at his home under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born June 25, 1925, in the town of Mosinee, son of the late Anton and Frances (Jansen) Heil. On November 20, 1945, he married Agnes Writz at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. She survives.
While living in Marshfield, he worked at Roddis (Weyerhauser) then ran the family farm for 32 years. For many years, he was also a ginseng farmer, retiring in 1989, when he moved to Marathon City.
LeRoy was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters St. Leo Court No. 795, Marathon and was a member of the Catholic Family Insurance Society. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, bingo and going to the casinos. Together with his wife, they traveled to 48 states. Favorite pastimes include, listening to polkas and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Heil, Marathon, six children, Joseph (Gladys) Heil, Eau Claire, RoseAnn (Gene) Jacob, Mosinee, Marie (Robert) Kiczula, Ill., Janet (Tomas) Sabaduquia, Ill., Ralph (friend, Julie) Heil, Wausau, Margaret (Keith) Ziegel, Marathon, 28 grandchildren, Joseph (Christy) Heil Jr., David (Lisa) Heil, Christopher (Jamie) Heil of Minnesota, Theresa (Jay) Zemke, Carl (fiance', Niki) Jacob, William (Rita) Jacob, James (Sarah) Jacob, Richard (fiance', Jenny) Jacob, all of Mosinee, Lisa (Scott) Fisher, Madison, Jennifer Marquez, Ill., Tony Kiczula, Ft. Besides his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Heil and four sisters, Hattie Kordus, Doris Heil, Frances Bonkoski, Loretta Bonkoski, a sister-in-law, Florence Heil, four brothers-in-law, Glen Bonkoski, John Bonkoski, George Kordus, Melvin Ruplinger and a great granddaughter, Desirah Jacob.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday March 12, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier and Deacon LeRoy Knauf will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. There will be a combined parish and Forester's Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Church. Visitation will continue on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Pallbearers for the service will be Carl Jacob, David Heil, Trevett Heil, Robert Kiczula, Allan Ziegel and Richard Jacob.
