Judith A. Durand

Judith A. Durand, 68, Boulder Junction, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 31, 1948, in Wausau, daughter of Irene (Lepak) Knetter and the late Clarence Knetter. On September 13, 1969, she married her soul mate, Scott Durand at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau and they shared 48 wonderful years together. He survives. Judy worked at Liberty Mutual, the former Wausau Insurance and Nationwide Insurance for over 35 years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Her home in the Northwoods allowed her to have a lot of interaction with nature and many of its wonderful creatures including albino deer. Judy had an inviting personality that allowed her to develop many lifelong friendships. Being a greeter at St. Anne Catholic Church and volunteering at the annual Muskie Tournament and for the Lioness in Boulder Junction was important to her. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to many destinations including out East and Alaska. Above all Judy was dedicated to her family caring for her 94-year-old mother, her mother-in-law and also her sister. She loved her nieces and nephews like children and was very present in their lives following all their activities and events. Survivors include her husband, Scott; Boulder Junction; mother, Irene Knetter, Wausau; siblings, Tom (Barb) Knetter, Fond Du Lac, Jerry (Laurie) Knetter, Evansville, Mark (Beth) Knetter, Wausau and Pat (Julie) Knetter, Mosinee; brothers-in-law, Jerome Schilling, Wausau and Jerry Green, Wausau; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ken) Manson, Wenatchee, Washington; nieces and nephews, Ann Knetter, Naomi (Jason) Holzmann, Brent (godson) and Brady Schilling, Erin (Jonathon) Matta, Erik (Amber Daffron) Knetter, Derek, David and Kelly Knetter, Erica, Nicole, Bridget and Victoria Durand; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Schilling, sister-in-law, Karen Green, brother-in-law, Ross Durand and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Durand. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
