Joseph L. Seubert

Joseph L. Seubert, 80, 1202 County Road B, Marathon, died Monday, November 3, 2003 at his home under the care of Hospice Home Care. He was born August 30, 1923 in Marathon, son of the late Joseph and Frances (Seubert) Seubert. On June 7, 1947 he married Charlotte Leitermann at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives. Joe retired from Pauly Cheese in the late 1970's. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, collecting maple syrup, card playing, but most of all he enjoyed the company of his family. Joe served in World War II in the 88th Infantry Division. During that time he earned two purple hearts and one bronze star. He was also a member of the American Legion, Alois Dreikosen Post #469, Marathon. Joe was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Marathon. Survivors besides his wife Charlotte include his children, RuthAnn (Al) Schreiber, Wausau, and their children, Sandra Schreiber, Joe (Danielle) Schreiber; Collette (Paul) Langenhahn, Wausau, and their children, Kim (Todd) Ciresi, Lisa and Amy Langenhahn; Steve (Denise) Seubert, Marathon, and their children, Terry and Keith; Mark (Marla) Seubert, Marathon, and their children, Jill (John) Lawrence and Todd Seubert; Frank and (Deb) Seubert, Marathon, and their children, Kevin and Brian, Sarah (Craig) Erdman; Rose (Bill) Gleason, Wausau, and their children, Rick and Tom; Claude (Cheri) Seubert, Marathon and their children, Shana and Beth; Paul (Terri) Seubert, Hartford, and their children, Cassi and Carrisa; Phil Seubert, Marathon and his children, Tori and Collin; Jerry (Beth) Seubert, Marathon, and their children, Avery, Bailey and Hunter, four great grandchildren, one brother, Rev. August Seubert, OFM Cap., Nicaragua and one sister, Sister Johanna Seubert, Willard. Besides his parents Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Alexius. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to thank Fr. Joseph Diermeier and everyone at Hospice Home Care, especially Lennet, Charla and Sister Fran for all of the wonderful care they gave Joe at home.
