Jerome G. Beck

Jerome "Jerry" G. Beck 75, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at the Allison House, Schofield, with his children by his side. He was born April 13, 1935 in Wausau, son of the late Alfred and Adeline (Marten) Beck. On May 4, 1957, he married Bertie Lou D. Wendorf at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2009. Jerry served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1963. For many years, he worked as a self-employed carpenter and following retirement worked part-time at Kolbe and Kolbe, Wausau. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and playing Sudoku. Survivors include six children, Randy Beck, Wausau; Rick (fiancee' Terri Schilling) Beck, Wausau and his sons, Nathan (Melissa) and Nick; Ron (Karen) Beck, Rothschild and their family, Philip (Sara), Melissa, Cassie; Rob (Michelle) Beck, Wausau; Ruby (Tom) Thoma, Wausau and their sons, Jake and Justin; Ryan Beck, Weston. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin (Lee) Wendorf, Green Bay, Harland (Dee) Wendorf, Tipton, Ind., Harvey (Vivian) Wendorf, Kiel, Elaine Steinke, Merrill and Charlotte Opper, Merrill and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Bertie Lou, he was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Joyce and three brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Gilbert and Dale. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
