Harry "Junior" Klopotek

Harry "Junior" Klopotek, 69, town of Easton, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at his home. He was born September 30, 1945 in Galloway, son of the late Harry and Cecelia (Betker) Klopotek. On October 7, 1967 he married Lois Koppa in Rothschild. She survives. After graduating high school, Junior went to work for Crestline Windows, followed by nine years on the Wausau Fire Department. After his father's retirement, he became owner of the family business, Colonial Ballroom, where he spent the next 30 years until his retirement in June of 2006. Some of his pastimes included attending auctions, watching NASCAR, playing pool, playing cribbage and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. He also collected both coins and bar tokens and enjoyed taking his vintage Chrysler 300 to the Iola Car Show with his son and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his giving of nicknames to everyone he met. Above all he loved his family and cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lois, town of Easton; son, Christopher (Kelly), Maple Grove, MN and their two children, Katarina and Kyle; two daughters, Michele, Luxembourg, Europe, and Heather, Minneapolis, MN; siblings, Larry (friend Norma Jean), Schofield, Lucille (Milton) Pyke, Weston, Beatrice (Dennis) Jagodzinski, Schofield, Etta Stanke, Wausau, Bonnie (John) Martin, Rib Mountain, Laurel, town of Wausau, and Terry, town of Wausau; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
