Gloria Ann Betts

Gloria A. Betts 69, 818 Young St., Wausau, died Sunday July 4, 2004 at her home. She was born October 26, 1934 in the town of Bern, daughter of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Grebowski) Ames. Gloria had been employed as a CNA at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Gloria enjoyed traveling and camping. Her hobbies included embroidery, crocheting afgans, crewel, canning and baking. She entered her work in the Wisconsin Valley Fair competition and received a few Blue Ribbons for her efforts. She also made her special cakes at Christmas which she gave to family and friends. She dearly loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who all referred affectionately to her as "Grams". Survivors include two daughters, Gale (Eddie) Pollard, Wausau, Laurel (Randall) Moore, Wausau; two sons, Alec "Butch" (Sally) Betts III, Aniwa, Maurice "Chummer" Betts, Minnesota, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, siblings, Delbert (Mary) Ames, Ariz., Rose Knapp, Friendship, Sharon (Nick) Bittick, Arizona, Bonnie (Jack) Bauer, Alaska, Barbara (Roy) Collerender, Alaska, Lila (Wayne) Kuesch, Arkansas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brad "Buddy" Betts, a granddaughter, Becky Betts, siblings, Betty Busko, Virginia Stamper, Sandi Ames and Dwayne Ames. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 8, 2004 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
