Glenn J. De Lisle

Glenn J. De Lisle 97, Schofield, died Wednesday October 11, 200 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. He was born April 29, 1909 in the town of Weston, son of the late Alphonse and Ida De Lisle. On November 17, 1930, he married Ann M. Bandock at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death May 7, 2002. They were happily married for 72 years. Glenn was President of the De Lisle Co., a kitchen business that he founded in 1947 and was noted for many innovations in this field until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Knights of Columbus and St. Therese Catholic Church. After his retirement, Glenn had a workshop where he made thousands of small Bluebird Houses. These he gave to friends and strangers and he took great pleasure in this unique hobby which brought joy to so many people. Survivors include two sons: Glenn R. (Kathy) De Lisle, Wausau, and Thomas E. De Lisle, Mosinee; two granddaughters: Michelle (Ray) Lindner, Chaska, Minn. and Alisa De Lisle, Milwaukee; one great grandson, Nicholas Lindner; one great granddaughter, Delaney Ann Lindner, and his brother, Lawrence De Lisle, Wausau. Besides his parents and his loving wife Ann, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Thompson and Helen Luedtke; and a brother, Clifford De Lisle. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday October 16, 2006, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center for the outstanding care given to Glenn during his time with them.
