Gary Werner

Gary E. Werner, 71, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. He was born January 9, 1947 in Wausau to the late Elmer and Margaret (Krause) Werner. After graduating from Edgar High School, Gary served in the United States Marine Corps and later went to work on the Alaska Marine Highway System until returning to Wisconsin in 2017. He had a strong network of close friends in Ketchikan and considered it home for over 45 years. After retirement he joined a woodworking group and created many beautiful wood turning pieces from pens to bowls and everything in between. Survivors include brothers Randall (Marcia) Werner, Edgar, Robert Werner, Edgar, sisters Beverly Werner, Rothschild, Wendy Werner, Hagerstown, MD and three nieces Brittni and Chelsey, both of Nashville, TN and Katelyn, DePere.
