Evelyn E. Winter

Evelyn E. Winter, 80, Schofield, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born March 18, 1937 in Wausau, daughter of the late Aloysius and Anna (Lang) Schilling. On February 12, 1982, she married Glenn Winter in Wausau. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1999. In 1974, Evelyn started working for Wausau Hospital, and earned her LPN Degree in 1980. She retired from Wausau Hospital many years later. Survivors include, four children, Jane Tuttle, Wausau, Joyce Gregory, Wausau, Lynn Gregory, Schofield and Ralph (Linda Rein) Gregory, Wausau; three grandchildren, Tara French, Ashley Gregory and Johanna Gregory; one great-grandson, Angelo Pascarella; and two sisters, Marlene (Milton) Heinz and Darlene Kapitz, both of Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, Glenn, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Laurie Gregory and Denise Gregory; and many siblings. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Surgical Associates and the staff in the ER at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the care and support for Evelyn and also to Chaplain Bob who stayed with Evelyn and her family from the beginning til the end.
