Eugene J. "Geno" Rogalla
62, 920 Campus Drive, Wausau, died Wednesday April 30, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1941 in Wausau, son of Monica (Worzalla) Rogalla, Wausau and the late Albert Rogalla.
For many years, Eugene was a regular fixture near the downtown bank selling his typewriter artwork and general merchandise from a custom made bike. He received special recognition from the Wisconsin Very Special Arts Council for his typewriter art. As an active member of United Cerebral Palsy, he served on their board, appeared in several telethons and was the first recipient of what is now known as the "Eugene Rogalla Lifetime Achievement Award".
Survivors include his mother, Monica Rogalla, Wausau, a brother, Gerald (Dawn) Rogalla, Milwaukee, a sister, JoAnne (Don) Rubow, Ladysmith and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2003 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from Noon until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangments.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Cerebral Palsy.
