Donald L. Skinner
78, Wausau, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1929 in Antigo, son of the late William and Viola (Pankratz) Skinner. On November 24, 1956 he married Rose Marie Tkaczyk in Chicago. She preceded him in death on January 27, 1998.
Donald served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in sales for the Santa Fe Railroad. In his spare time he was an avid sportsman and Packer fan.
Survivors include his children, Rochelle Skinner, Waterbury Center, Vermont and Damon Skinner, Santa Monica, Calif.; siblings, Luella Flemming, Richard (Kay) Skinner, Bill (Linda) Skinner, all of Antigo and Nancy (Clarence) Platt, Waynesville, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Anna Mae Olichwier, Chicago.
Besides his parents and wife, Rose Marie, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell, and two brothers-in-law, Clyde Flemming and Chester Olichwier.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the 6th Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up in Donald's name and may be directed to Damon Skinner, 1143 6th Street, Unit 201, Santa Monica, CA, 90403.
