Delores K. Burgoyne, 75, formerly of Schofield, left her earthly struggles to be at peace in God's hands on Saturday May 12, 2012 with her family at her side.
She was born February 5, 1937, in Wausau, daughter of the late Theodore and Eleanor (Gavin) Fierek. In 1955, she married Elroy Burgoyne at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. He preceded her in death August 3, 2006.
Through the years, Delores enjoyed embroidery, country music, flower gardening and an occasional trip to the casino. She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful cooking skills, especially her homemade bread and famous potato salad which were enjoyed at the family gatherings she enjoyed and looked forward to. Many will remember the familiar sight of Delores enjoying a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
Survivors include her children, Harry (Nancy) Burgoyne, Weston, Nancy (Michael) Lang, Kronenwetter, Randy Burgoyne, Wausau, Mary (Jeff) Abt, Kronenwetter, Wayne (Maria) Burgoyne, Bevent and Tammy (John) Johnkoski, Wausau, eight grandchildren, Lee (Terri) Ryan, Adam Smith, Amy Burgoyne, Becca & Molly Erdman, Nicholas Johnkoski, Abby & Jermiah Burgoyne; four great grandchildren, Chloe & Ryker Ryan and Kitana & Xander Siegar; three siblings, Joanne (Tom) Bloomer, Mosinee, Leone (Pete) Peterson, Schofield and Gary Fierek, Hatley.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Smith and three siblings, Elaine Gleason, Kenneth and Teddy Fierek.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Thursday May 17, 2012 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Weds. from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Weds. at the Sixth Street funeral home.

Sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff at Lakeview Heights for the years of exceptional care with so much love, compassion, empathy and laughter shared with our mom. She loved so many there! Mom was so proud of her children & grandchildren and happily introduced them to all her caregivers at Lakeview.
