Alois Lepak, 76, passed away on July 28, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born July 27, 1942, to Alois and Elizabeth Lepak, and grew up in St. Ignace, Michigan; Peoria, Illinois; St. Augustine, Florida; Iron Mountain, Michigan; and Marathon, Wisconsin. Following his graduation from Marathon High School, Al married Susan Vetter Lepak, his wife of nearly fifty-six years, who predeceased him on March 27, 2018. Al and Sue lived in California and Michigan for a number of years before returning to Wisconsin.
Al worked for Wausau Papers for over thirty years and was a devoted father to his two children, as well as an enthusiastic source of advice regarding soap box derby cars and science fair projects. Al enjoyed DIY projects, and following the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
He is survived by his children, Scott (Kathy) Lepak and Laura Lepak; grandchildren, Jordan (Alex) Riley and Kate (Randy) Bauer; great-grandchildren, William and Elizabeth Riley and Remy Bauer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 6, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, with a memorial service immediately following visitation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
