Alice O. Nagel

Alice O. Nagel 87, Edgar, died Friday January 5, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. She was born January 16, 1919, in the town of Frankfort, daughter of the late Fred and Martha (Walters) Burow. On December 30, 1941, she married Edward Nagel at St. John Lutheran Church ELCA, Edgar. He preceded her in death June 18, 1971. Alice was a homemaker, a member of St. John's Women's Group, where she was also the Sunshine Lady. She worked at church with Color Vision and had also been janitor at church. Among her favorite hobbies were, quilting, needlework, gardening and baking. Special to her was the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include four children, Elaine Mueller, Edgar, Joyce LeVoy, Stratford, Jean (Larry) Hoppenworth, Stratford and Sarah (Chris) Lemmer, Athens, 12 grandchildren, LeAnn (Bernie) Stankowski, Duane (Audrey) Mueller, Daryl (Beth) Mueller, Allen (Wendy) Hamann, Gayle (Jim) Grohall, Heather (Brian) Grassl, Kelly Hoppenworth, Aimee (Joe Lehouillier) Hoppenworth, Rachel Hoppenworth, Thomas, Jeremiah and Zachary Lemmer, 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by a grandson, Durand Mueller, two sisters, Helen Bogenschneider and Viola Westphal and a brother, Herbert Burow. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday January 8, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church ELCA, Hwy. N, Edgar. Rev. Jeff Tarras will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Pallbearers for the service will be Duane & Daryl Mueller, Allen Hamann, Kelly Hoppenworth, Thomas, Jeremiah and Zachary Lemmer. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.
