Ruth Weisbrod, 92, Weston, formerly of Rothschild, died peacefully on December 22, 2018 at St Clare Hospital, Weston.
Ruth was born in Wausau on August 12, 1926 to Magdalene and Leo Fahl.
She married Leon Weisbrod on October 2, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DePere. Ruth and Leon enjoyed life hiking and bicycling throughout the area, fishing, frequent travels to Green Bay, Stevens Point, Door County, Michigan’s Upper Pennisula and California, and hosting parties in the home that they built in Rothschild.
Ruth worked as a cashier at National Tea Company in Wausau for many years. She loved to golf and would often go right from work to play a round before the end of her day.
Ruth was a loving soul. She cared tirelessly for her husband and parents during their illnesses and deaths. She brightened the day of anyone she encountered with her warm smile and loving personality. Even hours before her passing, she was kind, polite and appreciative for what people were doing for her.
Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Donald and Gerald.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Parish, 602 Military Road, Rothschild, with the Rev. Allan Slowiak officiating. Visitation will begin one hour before the start of the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau.
