Robert S. Philippi

Robert S. Philippi, 80, Hazelhurst died Thursday December 13, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born February 25, 1938 to the late Albert and Delilah (Leister) Philippi in Milwaukee, WI. He married Carolyn Einert on April 5, 1961 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2009.

Dad was a dedicated father and husband who took pride in seeing his principles and values of hard work, determination and discipline translate into success for his children and grandchildren. 

Robert was a master craftsman who devoted his life to stone, building, carpentry and masonry projects which were completed with care, precision and expertise that will long live on. 

Most of all, he loved the North Woods of Wisconsin and all it offered. He was an expert outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and the camaraderie with friends and family those experiences together brought. He left this world a better place and will be missed by those who truly knew him. 

Survivors include his three sons, Dale (Kathleen) Philippi, Madison, WI, Robert (Liz) Philippi, Grapevine, TX and Mark (Tracey) Philippi, Henderson, NV; seven grandchildren, Sam, Joey, Marc, McKayla, Zach, Jacque and Wynn; and a sister, Justine David, Menomonee Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harlan, Allan, Jimmy and Gerald; and four sisters, Jeanette, Dorothy, Arlene and Ruth.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
